A fancy hairstyle, wearing expensive jewelry, and/or dressing up in stylish clothes make you beautiful only on the outside.

Your true beauty comes from your heart - a gentle, peaceful spirit - which is far more precious to God (your Heavenly Father).

About Gramma J

Hi!! My name has not always been Gramma J. All of my life I have been known to many people as Jennifer. After the birth of my first child, I have been called Mama or Mother. Since beginning my career as a teacher 39+ years age, my name included Mrs. Jennifer. But since the birth of my first granddaughter, I am now known as Gramma J.

Since retiring from education 4+ years ago, I have been looking for something productive to do. About 4+ months ago, I wanted to see if I could make hair bows for my 6-year-old granddaughter. Since she had several large bows, I wanted to try to make some different bows like I used to make for my daughter in the late 1980's. So....WaaLaa!! Praise God!! With an old piece of ribbon and one of my hair clips, it worked the first time that I tried!! These bows are made by weaving a ribbon(s) of several textures, numerous lengths, widths, & colors through clips or barrettes of different sizes & colors. They are then clipped on/in the hair in any manner in or on other clips, ponytails, braids, or as "hair extensions". The ends are not sealed so that there is the opportunity to cut the ribbons to fit hair length, style, & occasion. The bows themselves are also not secured so as to allowing retieing as needed.

For several weeks, my daughter-in-law helped me to experiment with different types of bows. Like many new beginnings, there were lots of trials and errors, but she continued to help and encourage me. I kept working on my original designs finding the combinations that worked for my granddaughter and those that she & her mother both liked. During that time, the suggestion was made that I might be able to sell some bows. I was very skeptical at first since I had never sold products before, but I enjoyed making the bows so much that I decided I would give it a try. This would also give me an opportunity to share the Word of God relating to personal appearance.

I had business cards made where the name "Gramma J's Beautiful Bows" first appeared in print and a paraphrased version of I Peter 3:3-4 on the back. I continued to purchase & sell a variety of ribbons and clips. I found a creative side of me that I didn't know existed! As of today, I have made at least 400 unique one-of-a-kind individual bows & ponytail bands!!! Having sold many of my bows before, during, & after 3 successful local holiday craft sales events this Fall and a few personal sales, I have kinda "gone wild"!!! Since I am now retired from teaching, this keeps me busy and I can work anytime I want.....no bells, schedules, or deadlines!!!

I had no intention of selling my bows online, but with the suggestions of family, friends & acquaintances and the invaluable help of a precious "extended family" young lady, this blog "was born". Right now I am selling only Christmas bows here, but if any of you are interested, I have hundreds more bows of numerous combinations of ribbons and clips ready-made or any that can be personalized.

Check out the individual pictures of bows with descriptions & prices on the "Home" page for ready-made bows or the "Bow Prices" page for personalized orders, and then go to the "How to Order" page to place your order of these unique one-of-a-kind bows.

         Thanks for your orders and............
ENJOY!!!
